I was going through the hordes of mixes and demos that I had, getting rid of clutter, and came across a DJing session I recorded late last year. The whole thing lasts about an hour+, and I was curious to see what I was messing about with since I never label sessions properly – it turns out to be my jamming out to Nujabes. When I got to Aruarian Dance, I remembered sampling from the original track ‘The Lamp is Low’ by Laurindo Almeida, and had a ton of fun messing about with it in the session. Before deleting the session in question (I periodically clear out my mixes and demos) I transplanted some of the Aruarian Dance bit and slightly cleaned it up.
